All SoloPRO+ CCUs are capable of recording and storing inspection footage. This footage can be saved to the device’s internal memory or transferred to external media – specifically an SD card or USB drive. In this guide, we’ll explain how to make the most of these features, including how to:
Automatically store footage on removable media
Transfer footage from internal storage to external media
Safely remove external devices
How Footage Is Stored
By default, all captured footage is saved in a daily directory, which is automatically created the first time footage is recorded each day. These directories follow a DDMMYY naming format. For example, if you collect footage on 6th July 2025, the corresponding folder will be named 060725. All footage recorded that day will be stored within this folder.
Choosing Where Data Is Stored
Footage can be saved to your CCU’s internal memory or to any external media connected to the device. By default, new footage and pictures are saved to internal memory. However, this setting can be changed through the Media Browser.
To change the default storage location:
Press the relevant button in the ‘Media’ section of your CCU’s keyboard.
(See diagram below)

The Media Browser will display up to three options if both an SD card and USB drive are connected. By default, internal storage will have a green tick icon next to it.
You’ll see that both the USB and SD card options have a blue and yellow background respectively. Simply press the button corresponding with this colour in order to select this media as your default storage location.
Transferring or Copying Media
You can copy files between internal memory and any connected external media using the
Media Browser:
Open the Media Browser and locate the device where your data is currently stored.
Highlight the desired file or folder and press OK.
Choose ‘copy to USB/SD Card’.
A progress bar will show the status of the transfer in real time.
Ejecting External Media
Always follow the correct removal procedure to avoid data loss.
To safely remove external media:
1. Press the ‘eject’ button below the USB slot on the left of the control unit. When this turns green, you can safely remove any media.
Alternatively, you can:
1. Open the Media Browser, scroll to the media you wish to remove, and press OK.
2. Select ‘Remove’. A green arrow with a red cross will appear on the icon for that device.
3. Wait until the red cross disappears and only the green arrow remains—this indicates it is now safe to physically remove the media.
